Abstract

The minimum sample size which guarantees confiability and precision levels required for the estimations is one of the aspects usually taken in account. When estimating the population mean with the sampling mean, the population variance is needed. When it is unknown, it is estimated through the sample variance of a preliminary sample. The methodology used for uniform and triangular distributions is presented here.
