Review: The author reviews his friendship with Chao Ko, to whom this volume is dedicated on the occasion of his 80th birthday, and their joint papers, a.o. the well-known Erdös-Ko-Rado theorem which had great influence in extremal set theory, and Ko's result on the diophantine equation xxyy = zz, x\ne 1, y\ne 1.
The remainder of the article is devoted to various problems and results in elementary number theory.
