Review: This is a very importent survey article on the subject which will be very useful to any mathematician interested in questions on blocks of consecutive integers. Erdös was engaged in the subject for over forty years ans is responsible for promoting the work of other mathematicians working in this field. The interesting collection of problems and results which are so simple to state and yet so profound, should arouse the curiosity of anybody who looks into this article. The reviewer feels that in order to do justice to the review one should reproduce the paper completely and so he should stop here and refer the reader to the article.
